I am retiring from designing…my items will be for sale through this month (January) and then they will be gone…they are marked 50% off.  I’ve really enjoyed designing but it has been a strain lately and I have to concentrate on family.  I want to thank all of you, my friends for supporting me in my endeavors…you are awesome…and I will be seeing you around scrapbook land!

All my love and thanks…Brenda

Vacation…and welcome home…

Posted on October 26th, 2007 in Just Ramblings by || No Comment

Last friday my mom and Rebecca and I took off to Red River, NM. to visit Judith in her beautiful home in the mountains. We were joined by Freddie and Sammy who stayed in Sammy’s darling cabin in town. It’s a 15 hr drive and I’ve never seen so many cotton fields in all my life…

On the way I knitted up a darling tea Cozy for Judith with a kit from Natural Dye Studio. It was an easy knit for the car, especially since I’ve already done 2 of them. I then tried to knit more but didn’t have the focus to work on socks or anything difficult and didn’t have anything simple on the needles so I didn’t get as much knitting in on the way up as I wanted to. Here is a photo of us using the tea cozy…Judith's Tea Cozy

On Saturday we went into Taos and stopped at several yarn shops..had a wonderful time…one stop was at La Lanna Wools…we spent a small fortune on yarn to make one of their scarfs…I got mine finished to show off…

Me at La Lanna finished scarf

and a close up of the scarf, it is really beautiful…

We also had a wonderful dinner at “The Apple Tree” and saw some beautiful clothing, jewelry and of course yarn!

Saturday evening we had wine and wonderful snacks at Sammy’s Cabin…it is absolutely darling, warm and cozy! \

Sunday we stayed in and it snowed!  Beautiful…then dinner at home with some of Judith’s friends…got some knitting done!

is was the day the I managed to get Red River Revenge…awful allergy mess…ugh…it still isn’t gone…but it was a nice day…

Monday we went back to Red River and then ate yummy New Mexican food…Tuesday a quick trip to a yarn shop in Angel Fire, a walk in the  country side…winding yarn into cakes and knitting…

Mom and Rebecca winding their shawl project…malibrigo yarn from Sunflower Yarns in New Mexico…I can’t wait to see this finished!

This was the first year I was able to attend this wonderful “girlfriend” trip.  I feel priviledged to have gotten to spend such a wonderful time with such great friends.  I surely won’t mix next year in Montana!

I am feeling so stressed out and behind in the digi-world…when school starts on the 20th I’m going to need a day to recover and then several with my head in the computer all day trying to catch up…The kids have had me running ragged trying to “do it all” before school starts…So my mojo hasn’t been nursed properly, I’m not in the swing of things!

Anywho…check out SBB NEWS…and at least see what the other designers are up too :)

oooo Smurfette!

Posted on August 3rd, 2007 in Just Ramblings by || No Comment

Your Score: Smurfette

You are 41 % Action Driven, 60% Interpersonal, 55% Street Smart, and 64% Artistic

This test measured 4 variables.

First, this test measured if you place a higher value on words or actions. Both have their own advantages. For instance a skilled negotiator and a skilled firefighter both save lives.

Second, this test compared your intrapersonal and interpersonal intelligences. Simply put intrapersonal intelligence means you understand yourself, while interpersonal intelligence means you understand others.

Third, this test measured if you are more book smart or street smart. Book smart people may be more interested in a variety of topics, while street smart people focus on the most relevant information. Smurfette is very street smart, while Poet Smurf is not.

Fourth, this test measured if you prefer an artistic or functional approach to life. Artistic people may concentrate more on details and ambiance, while functional people focus on if it works. In this case Vanity Smurf would be considered Artistic while Hefty Smurf just wants to lift stuff up.

You are more word driven, more interpersonal, more street smart, and more artistic.

Well aren’t you the lovely creature? It seems that you are the frequently lusted over Smurfette!

A creature of beauty, Smurfette is all about getting and receiving compliments. Action is ok, but she wouldn’t want to ruin her hair. Your low action score suggests you understand that words can often be more effective than force. The always popular Smurfette is of course interpersonally gifted. Your high interpersonal intelligence suggests that you also know other people well.

Not a gal to hit the books, Smurfette uses her charm and other skills to get by in life. Your high street smarts score suggests you are also comfortable in new situations. Of course art and beauty is very important to Smurfette. You also seem to appreciate art, creativity and design.

The 16 possible smurf categories are…

Lazy Smurf, Slouchy Smurfling, Hefty Smurf, Papa Smurf, Jokey Smurf, Grouchy Smurf, Sassette Smurfling, Grandpa Smurf, Handy Smurf, Dreamy Smurf, Painter Smurf, Poet Smurf, Baker Smurf, Vanity Smurf, Smurfette, Tailor Smurf

Hey, don’t be like Lazy Smurf. If you liked this test, please rate it highly to let others know. Thanks!

fun test…and I love elmo…

oh this was cute!

Your Score: Elmo

You scored 60% Organization, 66% abstract, and 59% extroverted!

This test measured 3 variables.
First, this test measured how organized you are. Some muppets like Cookie Monster make big messes, while others like Bert are quite anal about things being clean.
Second, this test measured if you prefer a concrete or an abstract viewpoint. For the purposes of this test, concrete people are considered to gravitate more to mathematical and logical approaches, whereas abstract people are more the dreamers and artistic type.
Third, this test measured if you are more of an introvert or an extrovert. By definition, an introvert concentrates more on herself and an extrovert focuses more on others. In this test an introvert was somebody that either tends to spend more time alone or thinks more about herself.
You are mostly organized, more abstract, and both introverted and extroverted.

Most people either love or hate Elmo. I hope you love Elmo, because that’s who you are.

You are both somewhat organized. You have a good idea where you put things and you probably keep your place reasonably clean. You aren’t totally obsessed with neatness though. Elmo has the same basic approach. His place is pretty tidy, but he doesn’t spend all of his time cleaning it up.

You both are abstract thinkers. You definitely are not afraid to take chances in life. You only live once. You may notice others around you playing it safe, but you are more concerned with not compromising your desires, and getting everything you can out of life. This is a very romantic approach to life, but hopefully you are also grounded enough to get by. Elmo’s whole life is based on fantasy and his imagination. In the beginning he was a regular character, but now he spends most of his time in this fantasy world.

You are both somewhat extroverts. Like Elmo, you probably like to have some time to yourself, but you do appreciate spending time with your friends, and you aren’t scared of social situations. Elmo spends some of his time with real friends, but he also needs some time just to chat it up with his goldfish.
The other possible characters are

Oscar the Grouch

Big Bird

Cookie Monster

Ernie

Snuffleupagus

Kermit the Frog

Grover

The Count

Guy Smiley

Bert

Hey, don’t be a grouch! If you liked the test, let others know by rating it below. Feel free to vote for your favorite character too.
